What does my prop mean to me?
The knife and fork represent eating a meal. Being able to cook is an important life skill as we all need to be able to cook nutritious meals to sustain and fuel our bodies in order to live. God’s word asks us to treat our bodies with respect and one way we can do that is to learn how to cook and eat nutritious food. My grandmother taught me how to cook and she has inspired me to teach others how to cook.
What is the best thing about STACS?
I love working at STACS because the unity amongst the staff is amazing. I enjoy starting the day reading God’s word and praying for our students, families, community and world. The small school community means that I know who my students are and can help them in their educational journey and show them God’s love.
My career to arrive at STACS
I was educated at a small Christian school and went on to complete my Bachelor of Education at Christian Heritage College (a Christian teachers college). I graduated and applied for a position at STACS and was appointed as the Kindergarten and Year 1 teacher. I began teaching in 1999, the second year STACS was operational. I have since completed Hospitality training and have been teaching History, Geography and Food Technology in the Secondary school for many years.
What church do I attend?
I currently attend Lifehouse Grafton (formerly Riverside). I have been part of the fellowship there for over 10 years.
What is the best gift you have been given?
A coffee machine
A significant Bible verse to me
Micah 6:8: ”He has shown you. O mortal, what is good. And what does the LORD require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God.”
This verse explains how I am meant to live. This is my life verse, my motto. I am aware that I need God’s help to live this every day.
