What does your prop mean to you?

A little bit of fun . The ducks are from one of my favourite old sayings I picked up from my mother ( Luv A Duck ).  The maroon flag, well, I enjoy stiring the pot with our students especially when it comes to State Of Origin.

What church do you attend?

Big River Baptist

What is the best thing about STACS?

The Staff.  I love my fellow workers in the Lord.  They are a great mob to work with.

What is the best gift you have ever been given?

Well being a Born again Christian and knowing what that means I would have to say Salvation, however, if I could have a 2nd best gift it would be my wife and children.

My career journey to arrive at STACS

After the death of my parents in my mid teens, I hitchhiked around this great country fruit picking in every state, Victoria and South Australia for 2 years. Then, Jackaroo work in The Kimberley (3yrs). Working in remote schools as maintenance officer in the Gulf of Carpentaria (Kowanyama) and (Lockhart River), Cape York Peninsula (2yrs and where I met my lovely wife). Moving to Atherton Tablelands FNQ, I worked at Malanda Milk as Cream Room Supervisor (7yrs). It was early during this period that I was married and accepted Christ as my Saviour. In 2001, Jo, Ben, Em and myself moved to Grafton to enter four years of Bible College. In my second year (2004), I applied for the position of cleaner at STACS while studying. In 2006 I became Assistant Pastor at our local Church. In 2007, we felt the Lord’s leading to go back to The Kimberley. There, I worked as Property Manager at Bayulu Remote Community School (4yrs). During this time, we led church at a place called Ngalingkadji, 70km west of Fitzroy Crossing. It was in 2011 that I received a call from Mac Lindsay (then Principal of STACS) who asked me if I would consider returning and working as Grounds/Maintenance. I accepted as both Jo and myself had been praying for leading and guiding for the future. This is my 12th year at STACS.

A significant Bible verse to me

1 John 3: 1:  ”Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God.”
