What does your prop mean to you?
If I could, I would have multiple props because, as my family would tell you, I’m a bit of a hoarder. However, I ended up choosing my Lego Millennium Falcon because it shows my love of sci-fi and creating new things – I guess that’s why I teach Science and Art!”
What church do you attend?
Life House Grafton
What is the best thing about STACS?
The family atmosphere which has Christ as its centre.
What is the best gift you have ever been given?
Besides the gift of Jesus?….. then I would have to say, I was given a ticket to play with tiger cubs at Dreamworld for my 21st. They attacked my legs and it was so much fun!
My career journey to arrive at STACS
I originally wanted to be a Tiger Trainer when I was in high school. I then did a Bachelor of Science majoring in Wildlife Management and Marine Biology. I later completed a Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing and started working at the Macadamia Castle in the wildlifepark as an animal keeper and presenter. While working there I was bored so I did a Graduate Diploma of Education and then God led me to STACS where I absolutely love to work.
A significant Bible verse to me
Mathew 9:10: “And as Jesus reclined at the table in the house, behold, many tax collectors and sinner came and were reclining with Jesus and his disciples”.
I know it is a strange verse to have as one of my favourites, but I really feel it shows that Jesus didn’t judge, he just loved everyone. It doesn’t matter who you are or what you have done, Jesus loves you and wants to spend time with you. Also, I love how it says he ‘reclined’ because I can imagine him with his feet up, totally relaxed, just spending time with those he loves.
