What does your prop mean to you?
My prop is a photo of my son, Logan, and me. It represents the incredible bond we share. Becoming a mother has shaped who I am today—it’s taught me resilience, compassion, and patience, all qualities I bring to my teaching. My son is my greatest blessing and continues to inspire me every day.
What is the best thing about STACS?
I am excited to begin my journey at St Andrew’s Christian School at the commencement of Term 1. From what I’ve already seen and heard, it is a school with a warm and welcoming community, dedicated to nurturing students both academically and spiritually. I look forward to being part of a school where faith and learning come together and discovering all the wonderful things that make St Andrew’s so special.
What is the best gift you have ever been given?
The best gift I’ve ever been given is my son, Logan. He is my greatest blessing and has brought so much joy, love, and purpose into my life. Logan reminds me to see the world with curiosity and wonder, and he inspires me to be the best version of myself every day. I truly believe he has made me a more empathetic, thoughtful, and motivated educator. His presence in my life is a daily reminder of God’s love and grace, and I cherish every moment I get to be his mum.
My career journey to arrive at STACS
My career in education began when I started my Bachelor of Early Childhood and Primary degree while my son was just two years old. When he was three and a half, I had the privilege of working full-time at an early childhood centre, where he was
also enrolled. This was a beautiful opportunity for us both as I developed foundational teaching skills while being close to him.
Later, I transitioned to working as a teacher’s aide at a local school in the Clarence Valley, which gave me hands-on experience across a range of year levels and strengthened my passion for teaching. In 2024, I was fortunate to begin teaching Kindergarten while completing the final year of my degree. I stepped in for a beloved teacher on maternity leave, and this opportunity taught me so much about the joys of early education. I worked with a wonderful class and felt privileged to be part of their learning journey. By December, I had successfully submitted my final university assessments and graduated (the official walk across the stage Graduation Ceremony is in June– But I have the degree, YAY!).
This year, I feel so blessed to have been welcomed into the St. Andrew’s community, where I’m eager to grow further and contribute to the students’ learning and faith journeys.
A significant Bible verse to me
A Bible verse that holds a special place in my heart is Psalm 23:1-2: “The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: He leadeth me beside the still waters.” This verse was my Oma’s favourite, and she would recite it to me before bed. It’s a comforting reminder of God’s guidance, provision, and care throughout my life’s journey.
