What does your prop mean to you?

One good thing that happened from spending a lot of days at home during 2020 for me was that I learnt how to make my own sourdough!

There’s been a lot of trial and error but I truly find the whole process of just using simple ingredients to make something delicious provides for our family and something they all love, its very fulfilling and brings me joy. I make a double batch every weekend, and the smell of fresh baked sourdough is so comforting and inviting – especially if it’s a cinnamon and fruit loaf.

What church do you attend?

Grafton Free Presbyterian Church

What is the best thing about STACS?

I would have to say the staff, everyone is just so lovely and encouraging and a joy to work with and be around.

What is the best thing you have ever been given?

I would definitely say how much of a gift my two boys are to me. But something a bit more materialistic, I got a waffle maker for Mothers Day one year, and we use it almost every Sunday morning for a lazy breakfast and it’s such a special family time together!

My career journey to arrive at STACS

To keep it short, I had been feeling unsettled and unsure of my current employment, one morning as I was driving to work, I was praying, that if God would have me somewhere else, that if He meant me to be doing something different, that He would open the doors to where He wanted me to be. That exact day I had been praying, I was asked by the School if I would please consider applying for the accounts clerk position, a position I would not normally put my hand up for. But with a lot of prayer, and trying to let God be in control, here I am, the Accounts Clerk at STACS.  God is good, and I’m so pleased he is in control of my life.

A significant Bible verse to me

A very special verse to me, is the one that God savingly blessed to my soul, found in Romans 5:6:  “For when we were yet without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly.”
