National Day against Bullying and Violence
The school participated in The National Day against Bullying and Violence on Friday with both staff and students wearing a piece of orange clothing with their uniforms. Principal, Mac Lindsay spoke at the assembly that bullying is unAustralian. As Australians we are well known for mateship in our culture. He also stated that God is a God of love and we are to reflect that love and compassion in all of our lives.
St. Andrew’s 20th Anniversary Celebrations
This year is the 20th Anniversary of the founding of the school in 1998 in the grounds of the Presbyterian Church, Grafton. Celebrations will be held on the Saturday of the June long weekend. On Saturday 9th June, the school will hold a BBQ lunch on the school grounds at 12 noon followed by a tour of the school grounds and buildings. There will be a celebratory dinner at the South Services Club on the same day at 7 p.m. All ex students and parents are invited to attend. All the details will be posted on the school Facebook page.
The school will also be publishing a special 20th Anniversary magazine that will be available on the day.
Year 12 Exams
Year 12 1 /2 Yearly exams will commence on Wednesday 4th April. It is most important that our senior students are now engaged in preparation study for these most important examinations.
Zone Touch Football Championships
On Tuesday last week St. Andrew’s had 4 teams compete in the Zone Touch Football Championships in Ballina. There was mixed Primary teams, Secondary Junior Boys team, Secondary Senior Girls and Secondary Senior Boys teams.
Our students represented our school very well on the day and showed great sportsmanship. All our teams are to be congratulated on their efforts as they won games, lost games and had draws.
Thank you to our Sport Coordinator Mr James Kidd for his organisation of our teams and to Mr Paul Schilling, Mr Phil Browning and Mrs Jane Barron who supervised on the day.
