Today our Year 3 and 4 students are on an excursion at the Yarrawarra Cultural Centre in Corindi where they will be participating in the Bush Tucker and Medicine Walk.
This excursion promises to be an exciting and memorable experience for the students, at it directly ties into their History unit on Australia’s Original Inhabitants.
Our School Cross Country will be held on Friday the 24th March 2017 for all Primary and Secondary students.
We would like to invite all parents, grandparents and friends to come along and encourage the students as they run. You are then welcome to stay and join us for morning tea and lunch.
Primary students will be running from 9:35am (after assembly) until recess at 11:05am.
Secondary students will be running between recess and lunch, 11:25am until 12:55pm.
There will be a free morning tea provided at recess for all visitors. The P & F will also be running a sausage sizzle at lunchtime for all parents and students. Sausage sandwiches —$2.00 each. The canteen will also be open on the day selling drinks, icy poles, chips etc. There will be no hot food available from the canteen on this day.
This year we are running an online fundraiser, raising funds to purchase new school sporting representative uniforms as well as making a donation to the Mama Sayang Orphanage in Indonesia where we will be making a school mission trip to later in the year.
As it has been raining recently the track is a true cross country course and is likely to be wet and muddy in sections.
Students will need the following clothing:
Arrive in house colours to compete in
Sports uniform to change into after the race
Second pair of suitable shoes for after the race. Please remember that high
school have sport after lunch
