Our school was well represented and the Christian Schools Zone Championships in Maclean on Tuesday last week where many of our students qualified to go onto Christian School State Championships in Sydney. Stand out swimmer was Year 11 student Bailey Gutteridge who gained 17 Year Boys Zone Age Champion. Thank you to Mr Anderson and Mrs Corrigan for being there on the day and organising all the students for their races on the day.
The Northern Zone Touch Football Championships will be held on Thursday 2nd March (this week) at Saunders Oval, Ballina. The championship will be a round robin format tournament with our school fielding mixed primary as well as secondary teams (junior / senior boys and girls).
All students will be traveling by bus to Ballina. The cost will be $25 per student which is to be paid to the office. The bus will depart at 7.00am from McDonalds, South Grafton. Please make sure your child is there at 6:50am so that the bus can leave at 7:00 am sharp. The bus will be traveling down the Pacific Highway to Ballina and passing by the Lower Clarence area.
Ferry Park (please be ready to catch bus at this stop at 7:30am) and at the Iluka turn off on the Pacific Highway (please be ready to catch bus at this stop at 7:45 am)
All games aim to be completed by 3:00pm (approximately). This means that we will be returning to Grafton McDonalds (South Grafton) at approximately 4:30pm. To confirm that we are leaving on time and therefore arriving on time back to McDonalds South Grafton, (or earlier pick up places) please ring the school between 3:00 and 3:30pm (6643 4770) to confirm our time of arrival.
Note: It is important that all parents are ready to drop off and pick up their child at the times given as we want to be on time to the competition and return home at a reasonable time in the afternoon. Please be aware that if your child is to be dropped off at Ferry Park you must be waiting there to pick them up. We are unable to leave students waiting at the park and if there is no one there to pick them up within 5 minutes they will be brought back to McDonalds in South Grafton as we need to get the remainder of the coach back as close to schedule as possible.
The school sports uniform is to be worn on the day. In addition to this, students are encouraged to bring their own lunch and water bottle as only a canteen with some light food and drinks will be available.
